Build the requirement around the fuel-cell technology
A hydrogen fuel cell converts fuel energy into electricity. PEM fuel cells use a polymer electrolyte, while solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) use a ceramic electrolyte and operate at substantially higher temperatures. Their materials, sealing and test arrangements require separate selection.

PEM hydrogen fuel-cell selection checklist
Send the active area, membrane grade, catalyst composition/loading, flow-field arrangement and current-collector materials. Include the intended hydrogen/air supply, temperature, pressure, humidification and electrical load requirements for review. Hardware and materials must be matched to the specific experiment; these listings do not imply a complete working stack or test station is included.
Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) research enquiries
No model-specific SOFC product or rated SOFC system has yet been verified in the current SSI website inventory. For a technical review, send your cell or stack datasheet, geometry, operating temperature, fuel/oxidant composition and flow requirements, electrical duty, fixture/sealing needs and furnace or analyzer interfaces. SSI must confirm the available equipment scope before quotation.
Do not select a Nafion membrane or PEM cell assembly as a direct replacement for a ceramic-electrolyte SOFC. The component listings above do not establish SOFC compatibility.
Frequently asked questions
Are PEM and SOFC components interchangeable?
No general interchangeability is established. Identify the fuel-cell chemistry and operating environment before choosing materials or fixtures.
Does fuel-cell hardware include a rated power output?
The existing hardware record does not specify a complete system power rating. Confirm the cell assembly, reactant supply, electrical load and instrumentation as separate quotation scope.
